Fatigue is generally defined as a feeling of lack of energy and motivation that can be physical, mental or both.Fatigue puts you at risk of accidents at work and while driving;you can address this if you know the cause of fatigue.
Some potential cause of tiredness include the following:
- Sleep Debt: sounds funny, right? You can owe sleep too.The average sleep adults need is eight hours per night but many people fail to get their sleep need thereby accumulating huge sleep debt. When you don't pay up all that debt by catching up the required extra sleep, you will go through your day feeling tired.
- Heart Failure:The reduction in the pumping ability of the heart makes less blood to reach the muscles and tissues. With less blood in your muscles, even daily activities can feel exhausting
- Anaemia:Anaemia means you have fewer red blood cells than normal or less haemoglobin in each red blood cell than normal. As the level of haemoglobin falls, the ability of your body to deliver oxygen to the brain, heart, muscles and other tissues is reduced. This results to tiredness, lethargy, feeling faint and easily becoming breathless,
- Depression:According to report, over 90% of people with depression always feel tired. Depression uses up so much of your emotional energy, this is reflected in your physical energy.
- Sleep Apnoea:When you snore, your throat starts to close and a wakeup call is sent to your brain causing you to wakeup enough for your muscle tone to be restored and your throat to breath. This prevents your body from going through the four stages of sleep, thereby depriving you the sleep you need. And you end up feeling tired.
Keep it up dear.
